Barnett’s Furniture began its journey in April 1983, when Ron Barnett, drawing on years of experience in the Marion, Illinois business community, opened the doors of the store near Simpson. He was joined in the venture by his daughter, Laura Evitts, and together, they set out to provide the residents of Southern Illinois with high-quality, affordable furniture.
After successfully running the business for nearly two decades, Ron retired in 2002, passing the torch to his son-in-law, Jeff Evitts, who took over the reins of the family-owned operation. Today, Jeff and Laura continue to co-own Barnett’s Furniture, maintaining the same commitment to offering name-brand furnishings at competitive prices. With their 20,000-square-foot showroom, they have created a shopping experience built around exceptional value and customer satisfaction.
